We share the excitement of tennis through innovation and excellence by providing comprehensive, inclusive tennis programmes including coaching, playing, fitness and competition for players of all ages and abilities, from beginner to elite for all in the community.

We have a fully developed adult tennis program for both the casual player and the player wanting to improve their game. KT Academy offers regular tennis fixtures, private coaching, social tennis, squad-based lessons, Pickle ball and cardio tennis.

At KT Academy/Mooloolaba Tennis Club, we have implemented thoughtful and impactful initiatives designed to improve growth and engagement across the club's many aspects. These initiatives reflect a strong commitment to providing an exceptional experience for all who attend classes and events at the club.

Membership Options: We offer a diverse range of membership options designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone in the tennis and pickleball community. Each package includes its own version of member incentives, such as discounted court hire and session rates, exclusive member days, and a Club Championship event each year.
Player Development Programs: We promote a structured pathway for junior players to develop their skills through age and level-appropriate training, structured competitions and mentoring from experienced coaches.
Community Engagement/Outreach: We connect and collaborate with many local schools and organisations across the Sunshine Coast, including Mountain Creek State School, Immanuel Lutheran College, Chancellor State College and Kawana Waters State College. These connections build on community engagement in the greater community through access, visibility and involvement in developmental-based events.
Competitive Play: We host a range of tennis tournaments throughout the year in addition to the high number of fixtures events (hotshot, junior fixtures, mixed doubles and ladies fixtures and veterans) and Fast4 competitive play. While being a club immersed in tennis-focused events, the club leads the way in complementary formats, running the biggest pickleball program in the region. The club also offers pop tennis within their Teen Tennis pilot program and beach tennis in the most recent Sunshine Coast Festival of Tennis.
Social Play: In addition to competitive play, we hold several social events for both tennis and pickleball. These events allow players to stay active and enjoy the sport without the pressure of competition, providing a perfect balance for those who want to engage without the commitment of a competitive schedule.
Facility Improvements: We have recently been awarded a Sports and Rec grant of $250,000. This grant will assist in maintaining an ever-developing pathway of complementary format courts. With the construction of eight purpose-built complementary format courts set to commence mid-February, it opens the door to a jam-packed schedule for both tennis and pickleball that will be furthermore accessible by the greater Sunshine Coast community.

TENNIS PROGRAMS

JUNIOR HOT SHOTS

Our Hot Shots group lessons cater to all students from beginner to intermediate player standards aged 3 to 12 years old. In these lessons students use low compression balls and a modified court to begin to explore the fundamental and perceptual motor skills and tennis basics. As your kids progress and start to enjoy learning tennis skills, emphasis then moves to learning to score and playing the game of tennis. These sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

We have some of the most diverse and popular social tennis programs on the Sunshine Coast, with players from all areas welcome to come along and play! Additionally, we operate a wide variety of adult-oriented coaching programs which cater to all ability levels!

DEVELOPMENT & PERFORMANCE SQUADS

We offer squad-based lessons every afternoon that cater to a wide range of abilities. Our Next Gen & Challenger Squads are for players who play regular fixtures and are looking to reach the next level with their tennis. This is a pathway to our Invitational Performance Squads, which are for serious tennis players who want to be among the top performing tournament players in the country.
